Connecting the dots within the Delights’ ever-expanding musical universe, Pyrope is a studio collaboration between Paul Osborne (Project Gemini), Paul Elliott (Oregano/Eleven76/The Library Music Film), Yael Lavie (“Silk and Gunpowder”/Leviot) and the label’s head confectioner, Markey Funk. On their first 7”, the four are channelling the spirit of the 1960s European thrillers to create two dramatic upbeat cuts – “The Duel” and “Broken Spell” – that blend sinister crime funk with eerie folk horror psychedelia.
